Make an x and y table, and pick any values to plug in for x in the equation.

I will use the numbers from -2 to 2

Now plug in the values you picked for x into the equation to find its y-value

x = -2

y = 3x - 1   Plug in -2 for x

y = 3(-2) - 1

y = -6 - 1

y = -7

x = -1

y = 3x - 1

y = 3(-1) - 1

y = -3 - 1

y = -4

Do the same for the rest of the numbers, and graph each point and draw a line connecting them.

Write an equation for the nth term of the arithmetic sequence −15, −33, −51, −69, .... An equation for the nth term of the
stira [4]

Given:

The arithmetic sequence is −15, −33, −51, −69.

To find:

The nth term of the arithmetic sequence.

Solution:

We have,

−15, −33, −51, −69

Here,

First term: a = -15

Common difference is

d = -33-(-15)

d = -33+15

d = -18

Now, nth term  of an arithmetic sequence is

a_n=a+(n-1)d

Substitute a=-15 and d=-18.

a_n=-15+(n-1)(-18)

a_n=-15-18n+18

a_n=-18n+3

Therefore, the nth term of the given arithmetic sequence is a_n=-18n+3.

Authur earned $136 in three weeks. He goes back to school in one more week. He needs at least $189 to buy the new coat that he w
Nady [450]

Answer:

136+ m ≥ 189 is the required inequality : m: The earning in 4th week

Arthur needs to earn AT LEAST $53 in the fourth week to buy the coat which costs at least $189.

Step-by-step explanation:

The amount earned by Arthur in first 3 weeks = $136

The amount needed to buy a coat = AT LEAST $189

Let us assume the amount Arthur needs to earn more to buy  coat = $m

⇒ $ 136 + Amount Earned in 4th week  ≥ $189

⇒ 136+ m ≥ 189

The above equation is the NEEDED inequality of the given situation.

Now, solving for the value of m, we get:

136+ m ≥ 189

⇒  m ≥ 189 - 136 = 53

or, m ≥ $53

Hence, Arthur needs to earn AT LEAST $53 in the fourth week to buy the coat which costs at least 189.
