We can answer the problem using a rule of three, simple, direct proportion and also using fractions. First the rule of three:
8 apples ------> 15 min
16 apples ----> x

x = (16)(15)/8
x = 30
therefore he can eat 16 apples in 39 minutes.

We can also equate fractions like so:
8/15 = 16/y
and solve for y:
y = 15*16/8
y = 30

If 8 apples takes 15 mins then 16 would take 30 mins because 8 is half of 16 so if you double the time it would be your answer

<em>5.</em> Input 5 where the x's, 3 = 2(5) - 7 is a true statement. 10 - 7 = 3
3 < 10 - 9 is a false statement, 3 > 1 is a true statement
2 is less than or equal to 11, is a false statement (2 is less than 11, but not equal to)
18 = 30 -12 is a true statement  30 - 12 = 18, 18=18
3= 2 + 5 is a false statement, 3 is not equal to 7

<em>6. </em>7 is less than or equal to 5(4) -16, 20 - 16 = 4, 7 is not less than or equal to 4. Therefore, 4 is not a solution.

<em>7. </em>9(5) - 3 < 60, 45-3 < 60, 42 < 60, 42 is less than 60, so the equation is true.
9(6) - 3 < 60, 54 - 3 <  60, 51 < 60, 51 is less than 60, so the equation is true.
6(7) - 3 < 60, 63 -3 < 60,  60 < 60, 60 is equal to 60, the equation is false.

Passing through (1,9),slope=2
Natalka [10]
Passes through (1, 9) with a slope of 2.

Assuming that we want this in slope intercept form, which is y=mx+b (m=slope, b=y-intercept) then we need to find the y-intercept! :)

To find the y-intercept (or b!!) you simply need to plug everything into slope intercept form using our given points.

y = mx + b

Plug everything in.

9 = 2(1) + b

Simplify.

9 = 2 + b

Subtract 2 from both sides.

9 - 2 = b

b = 7

Therefore, our y-intercept is 7! :)

Now that we have both the y-intercept and the slope, we can finally plug this into a new equation, using slope intercept form.

y = mx + b

y = 2x + 7

~Hope I helped!~

Answer:

\sf \dfrac{3}{4y}

Step-by-step explanation:

Simplify:

  45 = 5 * 3 * 3

  60 = 5 * 3 * 2 * 2

GCF = 5*3 = 15

           \sf \dfrac{45x^2}{60x^2y}=\dfrac{45}{60y}

                     \sf =\dfrac{45 \div 15}{60y \div 15}\\\\= \dfrac{3}{4y}
