what is the significance of silent spring, the mystery document and what were the effects of this book
Brrunno [24]

Answer:

The significance of silent spring based on Rachel Carson's work had a great impact in the environment, and also changed the balance of power in the world.

The effects of this book was viewed based on nature compromised by synthetic pesticides, whereby once the pesticides goes way up into the biosphere, it will affect not only bugs, or food chain of fishes and birds, it will also make children to fall sick, which would be of negative effect to the world.

Explanation:

Rachel Carson's work had a powerful influence on the environmental movement. in the 1960's Silent Spring became a rallying point for the new social movement.

According to environmental engineer and Carson scholar Hynes Patricia, the balance of power in the world was altered by "Silent Spring''.

Henry David Thoreau, wrote about Walden Pond. Silent Spring described a view of the  of nature  compromise by synthetic pesticides, such as DDT. Once these pesticides is in the biosphere, Carson said that, they not only killed bugs but also entered the food chain of the fish and bird populations and could eventually make children to fall sick.

Case studies and plenty of data and case that Carson drew from weren’t current, though scientific community had known of these research for some time, but Carson was the first to put all the pieces of work together to draw stark and far-reaching conclusions and for the public in general. for this singular act, Carson, the citizen-scientist, began a revolution.

Silent Spring, which sold over two million copies, made a an important case for the idea that if human kind poisoned nature, nature would in turn reciprocate."Our destructive and heedless acts enter into the vast cycles of the earth and in time return to bring hazard to ourselves."

Choose one of these issues to research:
Ulleksa [173]

What is your chosen issue? My chosen issue is bullying.

Why is this issue a problem in your state or local area ? Bullying in many countries is a big problem. In Peru statistics are not so clear but when you read the news you notice that number of students beiing bullied is increasing. This goes from physical agressions to insults. Fortunately there is awareness of the problem and most of the people know that has to be stopped.

What government agencies and citizen groups would likely to address this issue?

There are many things that can be done for example parents, school staff, and other adults in the community can help children prevent bullying by talking about it. Also, it is a good idea to build a safe school environment, and create a community-wide bullying prevention strategy.

What is the ultimate goal to address the issue? The ultimate goal must be zero bullying and to do that it is necessary team work I mean parents, authorities, the school system must be involved and to know that the problem is solved it is important to use statistics to monitor the issue.

What are the public policy alternatives to address the issue? The public alternatives are working very hard in creating a strategy to overcome the problem. The strategy can be designed to give psychological help to the victims and to give lectures in schools and also to monitor the problem with statistics.

What is one positive outcome  and one negative outcome for each possible policy alternative?

One positive alternative is that the strategy ends up solving the problem one negative alternative is that victims probably end up having psychologycal problems or maybe phisical injuries if bullying is not attacked with a good strategy.

What is the best plan to get the policy enacted?

It has to be team work, I mean eveybody has to be involved and it has to be a good strategy for the short and the long run.

How can citizens get involved to help enact the policy? Parents, children and aurhorities must create awareness that a problem like this exist and must be solved.
