First, lets convert our dimensions into cm.

2*2.54 = 5.08 cm.
1.5*2.54 = 3.81 cm.

Now, lets multiply by for the get the dimensions of the original painting in inches.

5.08*40 = 203.2 cm
3.81*40 = 152.4 cm

Finally, lets divide our new dimensions.

203.2/2.54 = 80 in.
152.4/2.54 =  60 in.

The dimensions of the original painting is 80 in. by 60 in.

An open box is made from a 40 -cm by 50-cm piece of tin by cutting a square from each corner and folding the edges. The area of
Inessa [10]

Answer:

  4 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

If x is the length of the side of the square (in cm), then the area of the base is ...

  1344 = (40 -2x)(50 -2x)

  336 = (20 -x)(25 -x) . . . . . divide by 4

  336 = x^2 -45x +500

Subtracting 336 gives ...

  x^2 -45x +164 = 0

  (x -41)(x -4) = 0 . . . . . . . factor

  x = 4 . . . . . . . . the dimension must be less than 20

The length of the sides of the squares is 4 cm.

The radius of a circular pipe is 14cm. what length of tape is recquired to wrap it around the pipe once
Aleonysh [2.5K]
This is your answer.....

Given ::::
Radius of pipe = 14 cm.

If we wrap ... then it means that we cover the circumference...

So circumference = 2πr
= 2 × 3.14 × 14
= 87.92

But according to the question....

The tape is to be wrapped twice.....
so...

= 2 × 87.92
= 175.84 cm.

Hence the length of tape required is
175.84 m.

What is the slope of the line for this table?
ZanzabumX [31]
Pick 2 sets of points....any 2 sets
(25,-8),(30,-10)
now we use the slope formula : (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1)
now we label our points...
(25,-8).....x1 = 25 and y1 = -8
(30,-10)...x2 = 30 and y2 = -10
now we sub....play close attention to ur signs
slope = (-10 - (-8) / (30 - 25) = (-10 + 8) / 5 = -2/5 <== ur slope
