Answer:

2/3

Step-by-step explanation:

First you add all the colors. Then you subtract that number from 4200 to get the total number of blue buterfiles. After that, you put the total number of blue butterflies in the numerator and the 4200 would go in the denominator. Then you reduce until u get the final fraction.

Tobin rows 2 miles per hour faster than her opponent. If it takes Tobin 30 minutes to finish a race, and it takes her opponent 4
Sunny_sXe [5.5K]
If we represent Tobin's speed as x, we can write her opponent's speed as
x-2 (since Tobin is 2 more than them). In addition, since it's in miles per hour, and 45 minutes is 3/4 of an hour, we can say that 3/4ths of her speed in miles per hour is how long the race is, so (3/4)(x-2)=distance of race. In addition, since it only took Tobin 30 minutes, and 30 minutes is half an hour, x/2 (half of her miles per hour) is the length of the race, so (3/4)(x-2)=(1/2)x. Expanding it, we get 3x/4-6/4=x/2. Subtracting x/2 (or 2x/4) from both sides, we get x/4-6/4=0 and by adding 6/4 to both sides we get x/4=6/4. Multiplying 4 to both sides, we get that x=6=Tobin's speed in miles per hour

Answer:

The answer is 6.5 hours.

Step-by-step explanation:

If you multiply the hours need to work during that week days(6) and the hours worked during the weekend(3.5) you get 33.5 hours worked over all. then, you subtract 40(the hours wanted) and 33.5(the hours worked normally) and you get 6.5.

A necklace regularly sells for $18.00. the store advertises a 15% discount. what is the sale price of the necklace in dollars
SSSSS [86.1K]
I can solve with 2 methods:

I. Because the discount is 15 % of 18 $ , the price will be (100-15=85) 85 % of 18 $
18*85/100= 15,3 $ ( the sale price)

II. The discount is 15 % of 18$
15*18/100= 2,7$  ( the discount)
then I decrease it from the regularly price
18$-2,7$=15,3 $ (the sale price)

Personally I believe the first is an easier method.
I hope you understand and you can apply this in every similary problem.
