Answer:

<h2> 15 souls </h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

If a shoemaker makes three new souls every four minutes, the number of soles he will make in an hour can expressed as shown;

3 souls = 4 minutes

x souls = 1hour (60 minutes)

Cross multiplying to get the number of souls;

4 * x = 3 * 60

4x = 180

x = 180/4

x = 45souls

Hence the number of souls made by this shoemaker in an hour is 45 souls.

Similarly, If another shoemaker makes two new souls every three minutes, the number of soles he will make in an hour can expressed as shown;

2 souls = 3 minutes

y souls = 1hour (60 minutes)

Cross multiplying to get the number of souls;

3 * y = 2 * 60

3y = 120

y = 120/4

y = 30souls

Therefore the number of souls made by this shoemaker in an hour is 30 souls.

The difference in the number souls they made in an hour will be x - y where x = 45 souls and y = 30 souls.

x - y = 45 - 30

The difference is equal to 15 souls

it rained nine days in the month of april .based on this ,what is the probaility that is does not rain on the first day of may?
attashe74 [19]
<h3>Answer:     7/10</h3>

==========================================================

Explanation:

There are 30 days in April. Since it rained 9 of those days, the empirical probability of it raining in April is 9/30 = (3*3)/(3*10) = 3/10.

If we assume that the same conditions (ie weather patterns) hold for May, then the empirical probability of it raining in May is also 3/10. By "raining in May", I mean specifically raining on a certain day of that month.

The empirical probability of it not raining on the first of May is therefore...

1 - (probability it rains)

1 - (3/10)

(10/10) - (3/10)

(10-3)/10

7/10

We can think of it like if we had a 10 day period, and 3 of those days it rains while the remaining 7 it does not rain.

A father and his son decide to sum their age. The sum is equal to sixty years. Six years ago, the age of the father was five tim
arlik [135]

Answer:

20

Step-by-step explanation:

To solve this you have to make a system of equations.

Since the father and son's age sum up to 60, the first equation will be:

f + s = 60

Secondly, since the father's age is 5 times the age of the son 6 years ago the equation will be:

6 - (5s) = f

Now, you have to solve the first equation to let it equal to s

f + s = 60

f = 60 - s

Plug in

6 - 5s = 60 - s

     +s          +s

6 - 4s = 60

-6         -6

---------------------

-4s = 54

-----   -----

 -4     -4

   s ≅ 14

14 + 6 = 20

A manufacturing firm wants to package its product in a cylindrical container
IRINA_888 [86]
To solve the problem above, we will be using the equation in solving the surface area of a cylinder which goes. A = 2pi r^2 + 2pi r h, A is for the surface area, pi is 3.1416; h is the height and r is the radius. Basing on this formula the radius will be 0.3982 ft both top and bottom.
