He wrote the book Leviathan which established the idea of the social contract. the social contract states that individuals give up some rights in order to be protected by the government. This form of thinking is very popular in western politics and can be shown through the collection of taxes. This is also very common in American government as seen by the fact that in the Declaration of independence the founding fathers said 'governments are instituted among men deriving their just powers from the governed' which means that any power the government has was consented to, in part, by those who are governed.

They consider the possibility that society might be obviously isolated into criminals and non-criminals a dualistic fallacy, or a misinformed thought.

denpristay [2]

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has called US forces deployed in Syria "invaders" but said he saw promise in US President Donald Trump's vow to prioritise the fight against ISIL.

About 500 US troops are in Syria in support of the campaign against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL, also known as ISIS).

The US-led coalition is currently backing a campaign by its Syrian militia allies to encircle and ultimately capture Raqqa, ISIL's base of operations in Syria.
