Answer:

she is paying back 9112.5 R.O

Interest paid back is 2,403.95

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the amount, we use the compound interest formula.

This is given as;

A = I( 1 + r/n)^nt

where A is the amount we are trying to calculate

I is money borrowed = 6709

r is the interest rate = 12 1/3% = 37/3 = 12.33% which is same as 12.33/100 = 0.1233

n is the number of times interest is compounded. We have 15 2 months in 2 and a half years

t is the number of years = 2.5

Plugging these values, we have;

A = 6709(1 + 0.1233/15)^(15)(2.5)

A = 6709(1.0082)^(37.5)

A = 9112.95 R.O

Interest is amount - principal( money borrowed)

9112.95 - 6709 = 2403.95

irina1246 [14]

Answer:

Sam's description = 3x+3, Kim's description =  5x-7

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Kim and Sam were each given the same pair of numbers.

Sam's description of the two numbers was:

The larger number is 3 more than three times the smaller number.

Kim's description of the two numbers was:

Five times the smaller number decreased by 7 is the larger number.

Question asked:

Which equation represents the situation?

<u>Solution:</u>

Let smaller number = x

According to Sam's description of the two numbers, the equation will be:-

Larger number = 3 more than three times the smaller number

                         = 3x+3\ (eq1)

According to Kim's description of the two numbers was, the equation will be:-

Larger number = Five times  decreased by 7

                         = 5x-7\ (eq2)

By equating  both equation:-

5x-7=3x+3\\ \\ Subtracting\ both\ sides\ by \ 3x\\ \\ 5x-3x-7=3x-3x+3\\ \\ 2x-7=3\\ \\ Adding\ both\ sides\ by\ 7\\ \\ 2x-7+7=3+7\\ \\ 2x=10\\ \\ Dividing\ both\ sides\ by\ 2\\  \\ x=5

Smaller number = x = 5

Larger number = 3\times5+3=15+3=18

Therefore, equations represents the situation are 3x+3 and 5x-7

How to get the right answer
slavikrds [6]

You could break down the shape and then get to the area but there is a better way.

The picture looks like a rectangle with a chunk pulled off it.

Let just imagine that it was a perfect rectangle.

Its dimensions would be 57 by 36 (20+16).

Perfect Rectangle Area = 57x36 = 2052 cm^{2}

Now, let us find the area of the indent and subtract that from the previous area.

Indent Area = 16 x (57-15-15) = 16x27 = 432 cm^{2}

Real Area = 2052 cm^{2} - 432 cm^{2} = 1620 cm^{2}

answer = 1620 cm^{2}

Find the standard form of the equation of the parabola with a focus at (0, -2) and a directrix at y = 2.
Julli [10]

Check the picture below.

so the parabola looks more or less like so, bearing in mind that the directrix is a horizontal line, thusu the parabola is a vertical one, so the squared variable is the "x".

The vertex is always half-way between the focus point and the directrix, as you see there, and the distance from the vertex to the focus is "p" distance, since the parabola is opening downwards, "p" is negative, in this case -2.

\bf \textit{parabola vertex form with focus point distance} \\\\ \begin{array}{llll} 4p(x- h)=(y- k)^2 \\\\ \stackrel{\textit{we'll use this one}}{4p(y- k)=(x- h)^2} \end{array} \qquad \begin{array}{llll} vertex\ ( h, k)\\\\ p=\textit{distance from vertex to }\\ \qquad \textit{ focus or directrix} \end{array} \\\\[-0.35em] \rule{34em}{0.25pt}\\\\ \begin{cases} h=0\\ k=0\\ p=-2 \end{cases}\implies 4(-2)(y-0)=(x-0)^2\implies -8y=x^2\implies y=-\cfrac{1}{8}x^2
