Answer:

x= -6,1

Step-by-step explanation:

The Given Equation is x^{2} +5x-6 =0   ...............(i)

Now we Know that Quadratic formula is

x = \frac{-b+\sqrt{b^{2}-4ac}}{2a}  ............(ii) and

x = \frac{-b-\sqrt{b^{2}-4ac}}{2a}   ..............(iii)

In the given equation

a= 1 , b= 5 , c= -6

For the first value of x Putting these in equation (ii) gives

x = \frac{-5+\sqrt{5^{2}-4(1)(-6)}}{2(1)}

x = \frac{-5+\sqrt{49}}{2}

x = \frac{-5+7}{2}

x = \frac{2}{2}

x= 1

so one value of x = 1

Now for the second value we will put the values in eqaution (ii) which gives us

x = \frac{-5-\sqrt{5^{2}-4(1)(-6)}}{2(1)}

x = \frac{-5-\sqrt{49}}{2}

x = \frac{-5-7}{2}

x = \frac{-12}{2}

x= -6

so second value of x = -6

So the solution to equation is x= -6,1

Alex17521 [72]

Answer:

t =  \frac{51}{4}  \\

Step-by-step explanation:

t- \frac{7}{4} =11 \\ \frac{4t - 7}{4}  = 11 \\ 4t - 7 = 44 \\ 4t = 44 + 7 \\ 4t = 51 \\ t =  \frac{51}{4}

PLEASE HELP!!!!<br><br> Use the table below to match the slopes to the lines.
skelet666 [1.2K]

Answer: Check out the filled out chart below.

Row 1:  1/4, 1/4,  -4

Row 2: -2, -2, 1/2

Row 3: 3, 3, -1/3

=========================================

Explanation:

Parallel lines have equal slopes. So if the original line has slope 1/4, then any parallel line will also have slope 1/4. The only thing different is the y intercept.

Perpendicular slopes multiply to -1 assuming neither line is vertical. For row 1, the perpendicular slope is -4 which multiplies with the original slope 1/4 to get -1.

Put another way, the perpendicular slope is the negative reciprocal of the original slope. For row 2, the perpendicular slope is 1/2 because we flip the fraction and the sign for the original slope -2 = -2/1

The width of a photograph is 4 centimeters more than three tenths of the length. If the width is 13 centimeters, what’s the leng
Nesterboy [21]

Answer:

30 centimeters

Step-by-step explanation:

since the width is 4 centimeters more than 3/10 of the length, then 13 is 4 centimeters more than 3/10 of the length. 4 less than 13 is 9, so nine is 3/10 of the length. if 9 is 3/10, then 3 is 1/10 because 3/10 is three times 1/10. If 3 is 1/10, that means that 30 is the length because 1/10 multiplied by 10 is 10 tenths, or 1.
