I will honour Christmas in my heart. I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future. I will not shut out the lessons that they teach.

“If they would rather die,” said Scrooge, “they had better do it, and decrease the surplus population.”

This told us about how little Scrooge thought of the poor and is the type of person to believe Thomas Malthus’s theory. If it doesn’t affect him, he simply doesn’t care. He is a representation of how all rich people viewed the poor during the Victorian era and gave no pity nor sympathy towards them. However, later on in the story, you will see positive character development for Scrooge.

m_a_m_a [10]

Answer:

Run-on sentences, also known as fused sentences, occur when two complete sentences are squashed together without using a coordinating conjunction or proper punctuation, such as a period or a semicolon.

Run-on sentences can be short or long. A long sentence isn’t necessarily a run-on sentence.
