Tanya runs a catering business. Based on her records, her weekly profit can be approximated by the function LaTeX: f\left(x\righ

t)=2x^2-44x-150 f ( x ) = 2 x 2 − 44 x − 150 , where LaTeX: x x is the number of meals she caters. If LaTeX: f(x) f ( x ) is negative, it means that the business has lost money. What is the number of meals that Tanya needs to cater in order to break-even?

The function

2x^2-44x-150

is a parabola concave up, whose solutions are

2x^2-44x-150=0 \iff x^2-22x-75=0

from here, you can use the quadratic formula

x_{1,2} = \dfrac{-b\pm\sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a}

to find that the solutions of the parabola are -3,\ 25

So, the parabola is positive if x (which wouldn't make sense in our case) or x

So, if Tanya caters 25 meals she breaks even, and starting with the 26th meal she will begin to profit.

Use the given information to solve the triangle for A = 150°, b = 4.8, a = 9.4
ELEN [110]
Well you can start by drawing a triangle with the information

the size of angle B can be found using the Law of Sine

\frac{sin(150)}{9.4)}  =  \frac{sin(B)}{4.8}

the size of angle C can be found using angle sum of a triangle.

The length of side c can be found using the Law of Cosines

c^2 = 4.8^2 + 9.4^2 - 2 \times4.8\times9.4\times  cos(C)

hope it helps

Rite an algebraic expression to represent "five plus the quotient of r and 14."
hichkok12 [17]
The answer is 3) 5+r/14

Let's go segment by segment:
<span>"five plus" means addition, so we have 5 +

</span><span>"the quotient of r and 14" is the division result, so sign / must be present: 14/r
</span>
Therefore "five plus the quotient of r and 14" is 5 + 14/r

Joe has to take two quizzes tomorrow. He has only enough time to study for one of them. The science quiz has 6 true or false que
finlep [7]

Answer:

C) English

Step-by-step explanation:

I don't really know how to explain it, so I'll show you instead.

For science, there are 6 of 6 correct answers with a 0.5 chance of answering correctly.

So,

0.5 x 0.5 x 0.5 x 0.5 x 0.5 x 0.5 = 0.016

For English, there are 4 of 4 correct answers with a 0.25 chance of answering correctly.

So,

0.25 x 0.25 x 0.25 x 0.25 = 0.004

They will have to study English (0.004) because it is lower than science (0.016).
