Imagery evokes the five senses (sight, sound, taste, smell, and touch) to add detail or create a more believable story. imagery is all about describing things in a way that a person can clearly imagine them. my go-to memory aid for this is related to fairs--you see lights, you hear screams, you taste cotton candy, you smell fried food, you touch soft stuffed animals. these are all forms of imagery to describe the sensation of attending a fair.

consider the word "sensory" in itself--it nearly has the word "sense" in it, and that's how you can remember that it's related to the five senses, and you use the five senses to imagine the way a place feels (IMAGine, IMAGery).

furthermore, syntax is concerned with word order and irony is when something occurs that is the complete opposite of what you expect. those are two answers you could have ruled out to help you narrow it down to imagery as your answer.

There should be more prisons in the country so that we can lock up anyone who
Mekhanik [1.2K]

Answer:

Many prisons already reside in the country. I do not believe we need more unless we have larger amounts of criminals. I do not agree that those who break a window ought to be locked up with murderers. Those who break a window might be a teen who accidentally threw the ball or it could be a felon trying to rob a house. I believe in each situation must be looked at and ways of the law honored. It must be noted it was an accident or it must be noted what was stolen. Each case is unique. If more prisons who are the prisoners? Are the rest of the other prisons full? Many prisons are throughout the country and it does not appear we have overpopulated them. Prisoners are those who have committed continuous crimes or crimes that once committed one may never return. One who breaks a window is not the same to one who has murdered. One broke glass the other took life.
