We have that the stream of water is coming out in small quantities; at most liters at a time since the stream has a width of around 10cm at most times. Hence, cubic meters per second is too large a unit to measure the small quantity of water going through the shower.
We have that we can calculate the rate if we know the surface area of the flow and the speed of the water. If one multiplies those 2 together, one gets the rate because the speed of water is pretty much how much a front of water is moving per second; if you multiply it by its surface area, you get how much a volume of water is moving.

which cost more. 8 printers priced at $145 per printer or 3 laptop computer priced at $439 per computer? explain.
Elodia [21]
8 printers for $145 each is a total of $1160.

3 laptops for $439 is a total of $1317.

Therefore, the price of 3 laptops for $439 each cost more than 8 printers for $145 each.

A company sells boxes of duck calls (d) for $35 and boxes of turkey calls (t) for $45. they make batches of duck calls that fill
SIZIF [17.4K]

Answer:

Option A is the correct choice.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let d be the number of boxes of duck calls and t be the number of boxes of turkey calls.

We have been given that a company sells boxes of duck calls for $35 and boxes of turkey calls (t) for $45, so the revenue earned from selling d boxes of duck and t boxes of turkey call will be 35d and 45t respectively.

Further, the company plan to make $300. We can represent this information as:

35d+45t=300...(1)

We are also told that they make batches of duck calls that fill 6 boxes and batches of turkey calls that fill 8 boxes. the company only has 42 boxes. We can represent this information as:

6d+8t=42...(2)

6d=42-8t...(2)

Therefore, our desired system of equation will be:

35d+45t=300...(1)

6d=42-8t...(2)

g A manufacturer of sprinkler systems designed for fire protection claims that the average activating temperature is at least 13
Luden [163]

Answer:

There is enough evidence to reject the manufacturer’s claim and  the standardized test statistic z is -3.43

Step-by-step explanation:

A manufacturer of sprinkler systems designed for fire protection claims that the average activating temperature is at least 135°F.

So, Null hypothesis:H_0:\mu \geq 135

Alternate hypothesis :H_a:\mu

To test this claim, you randomly select a sample of 32 systems and find the mean activation temperature to be 133°F.

x=133

n = 32

Population Standard deviation =\sigma = 3.3^{\circ}F

Formula :z=\frac{x-\mu}{\frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}}}

z=\frac{133-135}{\frac{3.3}{\sqrt{32}}}\\\\z=-3.428

z=-3.43

Refer the z table for p value

p value = 0.0003

\alpha = 0.10

p value < α

So, we failed to accept null hypothesis

Hence there is enough evidence to reject the manufacturer’s claim and  the standardized test statistic z is -3.43
