Answer:

25 mph

Explanation:

When you travel against the wind your total velocity is your initial velocity minus velocity of the wind, but when you travel with the wind total velocity is the sum of both velocities.

note that distance is a constant, so you can write x=vt where  x is the distance, v is total velocity and t is the time.

the distance is the same:

x=(Vairplane-Vair).t1 when you go against the wind

x=(Vairplane+Vair).t2 when you go with the wind

(Vairplane-Vair).t1 = (Vairplane-Vair).t2

t1= 2h+48min = 2h+(48min.\frac{1h}{60min} )= 2h+0.8h = 2.8h

(150mph-Vair).2.8 =(150mph+Vair).2

420mi-2.8Vair = 300mi+2Vair

4.8Vair=120mi

Vair=120mi/4.8h=25mph
