6 cm 3 cm 2 cm What is the volume of this rectangular prism?

Mathematics

3 0
The equation to find the volume of a rectangular prism is:

lwh = V

So presuming that all those numbers represent those variables...

(6)(3)(2) = 36 cm³

The centimeters are cubed because there are 3 variables/your finding volume.

also:

l = length
w = width
h = height

Solve for x.<br> -4 &lt; 11 - 3.2
goldenfox [79]

Answer:

-4<11-(32/10)

Inequality is always true

Reformatting the input :

Changes made to your input should not affect the solution:

(1): "3.2" was replaced by "(32/10)".

Rearrange:

Rearrange the equation by subtracting what is to the right of the greater than sign from both sides of the inequality :

                    -4-(11-(32/10))<0

Step by step solution :

Step  1  :

           16

Simplify   ——

           5

Equation at the end of step  1  :

              16

 -4 -  (11 -  ——)  < 0

              5

Step  2  :

Rewriting the whole as an Equivalent Fraction :

2.1   Subtracting a fraction from a whole

Rewrite the whole as a fraction using  5  as the denominator :

          11     11 • 5

    11 =  ——  =  ——————

          1        5

Equivalent fraction : The fraction thus generated looks different but has the same value as the whole

Common denominator : The equivalent fraction and the other fraction involved in the calculation share the same denominator

Adding fractions that have a common denominator :

2.2       Adding up the two equivalent fractions

Add the two equivalent fractions which now have a common denominator

Combine the numerators together, put the sum or difference over the common denominator then reduce to lowest terms if possible:

11 • 5 - (16)     39

—————————————  =  ——

      5           5

Equation at the end of step  2  :

       39

 -4 -  ——  < 0

       5

Step  3  :

Rewriting the whole as an Equivalent Fraction :

3.1   Subtracting a fraction from a whole

Rewrite the whole as a fraction using  5  as the denominator :

          -4     -4 • 5

    -4 =  ——  =  ——————

          1        5

Adding fractions that have a common denominator :

3.2       Adding up the two equivalent fractions

-4 • 5 - (39)     -59

—————————————  =  ———

      5            5

Equation at the end of step  3  :

 -59

 ———  < 0

A quality-conscious disk manufacturer wishes to know the fraction of disks his company makes which are defective. Step 2 of 2 :
stiks02 [169]

Answer:

0.0497 - 1.96\sqrt{\frac{0.0497(1-0.0497)}{322}}=0.026

0.0497 + 1.96\sqrt{\frac{0.0497(1-0.0497)}{322}}=0.073

The 90% confidence interval would be given by (0.026;0.073)

Step-by-step explanation:

Previous concepts

A confidence interval is "a range of values that’s likely to include a population value with a certain degree of confidence. It is often expressed a % whereby a population means lies between an upper and lower interval".

The margin of error is the range of values below and above the sample statistic in a confidence interval.

Normal distribution, is a "probability distribution that is symmetric about the mean, showing that data near the mean are more frequent in occurrence than data far from the mean".

The population proportion have the following distribution

\hat p \sim N(p,\sqrt{\frac{p(1-p)}{n}})

Solution to the problem

The estimated proportion for this case is:

\hat p =\frac{322-306}{322}= 0.0497

Represent the proportion of defectives for this case

In order to find the critical value we need to take in count that we are finding the interval for a proportion, so on this case we need to use the z distribution. Since our interval is at 90% of confidence, our significance level would be given by \alpha=1-0.90=0.1 and \alpha/2 =0.05. And the critical value would be given by:

z_{\alpha/2}=-1.64, z_{1-\alpha/2}=1.64

The confidence interval for the mean is given by the following formula:

\hat p \pm z_{\alpha/2}\sqrt{\frac{\hat p (1-\hat p)}{n}}

If we replace the values obtained we got:

0.0497 - 1.96\sqrt{\frac{0.0497(1-0.0497)}{322}}=0.026

0.0497 + 1.96\sqrt{\frac{0.0497(1-0.0497)}{322}}=0.073

The 90% confidence interval would be given by (0.026;0.073)
