-Stereotypes are common ideas known about a general group, and are often used to describe individuals from the group although they are not like what the stereotypical ___ would be like.
-This makes it hard for people to get to know someone because when people first meet one another, the first thing is to look at the person. By just what the person sees, they could start having biased thoughts about the person. Because stereotypical ideas as spread out and known by everyone, you could begin to place the people you meet into separate categories with your definition of what they are, when really, they aren't really what people hear about.

-This can make it hard to get to know someone because your biased ideas about a person you have never met can block you from actually getting to know them.
-This can also lead to conflict because there are things like bullying, where a group teams up against another for simply being "different".
