The oil disaster affected the water and the land the most. It affected the water because many of the earth's creatures dwell in the water. Many many animals died and were exposed to the dangerous oil. It also affected the land because the animals who dwelled on both the land and water came to the land. This infected the plants and wildlife near the ocean.
