Patrick Henry is not hopeful about the chance of peace probably because, humans are wired to want the most power and be in control and this does not pair well with the needs of the Earth and how peace would be made. Humans, sadly, can't handle when people are better than them if they have any reason to compare themselves to the other person, they want everything for themselves. This contradicts how peace would be made because the way this would work is when all humans stop fighting and having wars and other horrible things in society and all around the world.
