Your answer would be D.

A harmful mutation is what it seems to be- it is a mutation which harms an organism's chances at survival.

Therefore, the correct answer would be D.

From this logic, we can also deduct it cannot be A. It cannot be B either, or most likely won't be - a phenotype is the entire characteristic of an organism, its behavior, traits, etc. Phenotypes are also influenced by the environment, which a genetic mutation has nothing to do with. Finally, it wouldn't be C. A genetic mutation of one organism would not change the environment of the organism, only the organism who's genetics it is.

Good luck!

Describe the relationship between evolution, genetic mutation, and the environment.

The meaningful differences between organisms in a population are genetic. Variations in the genome of members of a population arise through mutation. Occasionally, a mutation occurs in an individual that is beneficial, that helps that organism be better able to survive and repoduce in its current environment.

Which of the following is NOT a part of an ATP molecule? Select one: a. adenine b. ribose c. chlorophyll d. phosphate
Gnesinka [82]

Answer:

C (Chlorophyll)

Explanation:

Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) is an energy carrying molecule in all living cells. It is the usable form of energy by cells. Organisms are able to carry out cellular functions using the energy carried by ATP molecules. ATP like other molecules is made up of components that make up its chemical structure.

ATP is composed of three structural components; A five-carbon sugar called RIBOSE at the core of its structure, attached to a nitrogenous base called Adenine and phosphate group (three in ATP). The energy in ATP is released when it loses its phosphate component.

Chlorophyll is a pigment found in the Chloroplast of plant cells. It is another molecule that is made up of its own components e.g nitrogen, magnesium etc.
