One way that the government can manage broadcast media is by controlling the information put out in the media. Another way is to keep information secret otherwise the government is screwed because the media will reveal things that the government does not want people finding out. "Top Secret" would be something that the government would keep out of media's reach.

Economic:

The peasant class was very poor and was taxed horribly because the King wass spending all his money.

Also they just got out of a war that they were not payed for yet(American Revolution)

Political: The king was taxing the life out of the lower classes which caused resentment

Social: the Enlightenment was causing some problems bc it challenged the views everyone held about rights, authority, religion, etc.

The Russian term glasnost refers policies that are generally "transparent"--meaning that the general public can "see" into the workings of government. Perestroika had to do more with "reconstructing" Russian policies to fit a more modern world.
