Complete question:

A small kennel has budgeted to provide 10 gallons of water for its animals. Each cat receive one eight of a gallon per day and each dog receives one fourth of a gallon per day . Which inequality correctly represent the scenario.

a. 10 < -1/8c - 1/4d

b. 10 ≤ 1/8c + 1/4d

c 10 ≥ -1/8c - 1/4d

d. 10 ≥ 1/8c + 1/4d

Answer:

d. 10 ≥ 1/8c + 1/4d

Step-by-step explanation:

The kennel was budgeted to provide 10 gallons of water for its animals. The cat receives 1/8 of a gallon per day and each dog receive 1/4 of a gallon per day.

Since 10 gallons was budgeted for the animals the sum of the a gallon per day for the cat and dog will most likely not exceed 10 gallons. The animals will most likely consume less than the budgeted value or equals to the budgeted value.

note that the sum of 1/8 of a gallon for the cat and 1/4 of a gallon for the dog should be either less than 10 or equals to 10. This means 10 ≥ 1/8c + 1/4d .

Answer:

10 ≥ ⅛c + ¼d

Step-by-step explanation:

They budgeted up to 10 gallons of water, meaning that it CANNOT exceed 10. When turned around, you will see that everything is less than or equal to 10.

Sasha Ruby and Mario each have 1 3 / 4 cups of flour.can they make a recipe for bread that needs 5 cups of flour
saw5 [17]
Each of them have 1 3/4 cups of flour, so together they have 2 x 1 3/4 cups. Turn the mixed number into an improper fraction in order to multiply it. 1 3/4 = 4/4 + 3/4 = 7/4. Multiply 7/4 x 2 = 7/4 x 2/1 = 7(2) / 4(1) = 14/4, which simplified equals 3 1/2 because 14/4 = 3 r2, or 3 2/4, which equals 3 1/2. So together they have a total of 3 1/2 cups of flour. Because 3 /12 is less than 5, they do not have enough cups of flour to make the recipe.

What are the minimum and maximum distances that Morgan’s dog may be from the house? (Algebra ll) *URGENT*
Mashcka [7]

Given:

The minimum and maximum distance that the dog may be from the house can be found by using the equation:

|x-500|=8

To find:

The minimum and maximum distance that the dog may be from the house.

Solution:

We have,

|x-500|=8

It can be written as:

x-500=\pm 8

Adding 500 on both sides, we get

x=500\pm 8

Now,

x=500+8 and x=500-8

x=508 and x=492

The minimum distance is 492 meters and the maximum distance is 508 meters.

Therefore, the correct option is C.
