Why was the search for the northwest passage important even though early voyages failed?

The Northwest Passage has long been considered one of the most important marine paths in history, shortening the distance between Europe and eastern Asia by thousands of miles. This passage, once explored and tackled, also bridged these faraway lands to the eastern United States and the Canadian North. Although the passage has always been integral in shipping valuable mineral resources from the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans to the Arctic and Canadian Islands, it’s never exactly been smooth sailing.

In the civil trial process, in response to a complaint the defendant may file with the court an initial pleading, called a(n) __
xenn [34]

Answer:

"answer"

Explanation:

According to my research on different law terminology, I can say that based on the information provided within the question the initial pleading being mentioned is called an "answer". This (like mentioned in the question) is when the defendant can either concede the validity of the allegations being made in the plaintiff's accusation or completely deny it. This is usually asked as a direct question by the judge, in which you must answer guilty or not guilty.

I hope this answered your question. If you have any more questions feel free to ask away at Brainly.
