Scientific method includes some steps that are necessary for conducting the successful experiment.

1. Make an observation

You observe the growth of the plant under the influence of light (phototropic effect) and you notice that some plants successfully grow under artificial light. You want to compare that growth with growth under the sunlight.

2. Ask a question

How does the light influence plant growth?

Are the wavelengths of the light important?

Is natural light source (sun) better for plant growth...

3. Form a  hypothesis - it is a testable potential answer to the question

For example: Sunlight induces higher phototropic reaction.

4. Make a prediction

Sunlight is richer in red and blue hues which are both extremely important to plant growth.

5. Test the prediction

Design an experiment by putting one pot with beans outside on sunlight and other under the light bulb. Other conditions such as water must be the same. Monitor their growth for about 2 weeks and measure the results.

6. Analyze the data and make a conclusion.

Agata [3.3K]

Cost of the buying division is affected by transfer price

Explanation:

When goods or services are transferred from one segment to another segment but in same company is mainly known as transfer price. It is also known as artificial price. It is duty of accountants keep record the transfer price as a revenue of the producing segment and as a cost, or expense, of the receiving segment.

On some measure of profitability generally some segments are evaluated. Selling and buying segments are affected by transfer price. Higher transfer price is good for the seller and the lower transfer price is better for the buyer.

When a pinecone is open, it disperses its seeds. Based on your experiment, can you tell what weather conditions are needed for p
ExtremeBDS [4]

Answer:

If a pine seed finds the right micro-climate, it will eventually sprout and a pine seedling will start to grow. However, pine seeds are usually released in a dormant state, which is most often broken by cold stratification. As a result, a pine seed will not sprout until the following spring when warm weather and some spring moisture are present.

Which of the following does NOT describe conditions that occur during an action potential?
salantis [7]

Answer:

D) Na+ is used to repolarize the membrane.

Explanation:

Option D is wrong choice because it is K+ which is used to repolarize the membrane not Na+.

As soon as membrane gets depolarized because of influx of Na+ due to opening of voltage gated Na+ channels simultaneous opening of voltage gated K+ channels and closing of Na+ voltage gated channels takes place. As a result of which K+ moves out of the cell leading to drawing of electrochemical gradient out of the cell.

In order to achieve resting membrane potential, more Na+ must be out of the cell and more K+ must be inside the cell. There are many leaky channels on neurons from which Na+ has tendency to leak into the cell while K+ has the tendency to leak outside of the cell. So Na+/K+ pump which is located on the membrane of neuron keeps pushing Na+ outside of the cell and K+ inside the cell so as to maintain resting membrane potential which is -70 mV.
