The 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments, also collectively known as the Civil War Amendments were designed to ensure equality for recently emancipated slaves. The 13th Amendment banned slavery and all involuntary servitude, except in the case of punishment for a crime.
The 14th Amendment guaranteed African Americans citizenship rights and promised that the federal government would enforce equal protection of the laws.
The 15th Amendment stated that no one could be denied the right to vote based on race, color or previous condition of servitude.

A primary source is one that is written by someone who experienced the event firsthand. Anne Frank's diary is an example of a primary source. She was the first (primary) person who experienced what happened on that hierarchy.
A secondary source is one that is written about a primary source. It comes second on the hierarchy of receiving historical information because it has to be based on a primary source, which gives the actual information. A history documentary is an example of a secondary source.

Lincoln was worried about Kentucky, Missouri, Maryland, and Delaware because they were all border states during the civil war. He was worried that they would transform into complete slave states. If they did, the north wouldn’t have much more land and the north would have lost the civil war. He wanted to contain them.
