In Nature's rule of law; it is technically both. The only difference between the two would be photosynthesis happens with plants. While cellular respiration happens with living beings.

Photosynthesis is when plants use the sun to make their food, also, the question says respire in it so the answer is Cellular respiration

Describe the effects of NE and Ach on contractile force that you observed today. Given your knowledge of sympathetic and parasym
Afina-wow [57]

Answer:

The answer is Norepinephrine.

Explanation:

Acetylcholine (Ach) and Norepinephrine (NE) are both chemical substances (neurotransmitters) released primarily by nerve cells and they affect different parts and systems of the body. Acetylcholine mostly targets the muscles and the brain and it is a part of the parasymphatetic nervous system whereas norepinephrine targets the whole body and has an effect that leads to the contraction of muscles and the increase of the heart rate. Norepinephrine is a part of the symphatetic nervous system.

Since the symphatetic nervous system is responsible for the crucial "fight-or-flight" response of our body, it has a more dramatic effect on the muscle contraction. Norepinephrine, being a part of the symphatetic nervous system, should result in a more drastic change in contractile force.

I hope this answer helps.

A glycosidic linkage is analogous to_________ in proteins
luda_lava [24]

Answer: Peptide bond

Explanation:

Polysacharride are monomers of carbohydrates linked together by glycosidic bonds to form long chains, also proteins are polymers of amino acids linked together by peptide bonds.

Linear chains of carbohydrates are linked together by glycosidic alpha-1,4- glycosidic linkages(between the OH group of the first carbon if the 1st monomer and the OH group of the 4th carbon of the second monomer. The branched point are linked by alpha-1,6-linkages.

In proteins the alpha carboxyl group of one amino acid react with alpha amino group of another amino acid to form a peptide bond or CO-NH bridge. Proteins are made by polymerization of amino acids through peptide bonds.

Aproximately 30% of substitution mutations result in no change in the genetic code, why?
Zepler [3.9K]

Answer:

1. A mutation that causes changes in the amino acid sequence downstream of the mutation is called FRAME SHIFT MUTATION. The correct option is D. A frame shift mutation is one in which the mutation is caused either by the addition or deletion of base pairs in the DNA of a gene, this results in the translation of the genetic code in the wrong reading frame starting from the position of the mutation to the end of the affected gene. Frame shift mutation result in the production of nucleotide that are not divisible by three. Because the nucleotide codons are usually pair in three, frame shift mutation causes a change in the reading frame and this result in a protein translation that is different from the original.

2. The correct option is D.

If the third base A is deleted from the codon given in the question, it will results in the formation of frame shift mutation and this will change the translation of the protein from leucine to tyrosine. The deletion will not affect the first amino acid in the sequence.

3. Albinism is a type of mutation that can is described as DELETERIOUS. The correct option is D.

Deleterious mutation refers to any type of mutation which reduces the fitness of a living organism. Albinism is a medical condition in which an individual experience a partial or total loss of skin pigmentation. The condition is a genetic disorder that is caused by lack of adequate amount of melanin pigment in the skin. Albinism causes vision loss, extreme sun sensitivity and stigma.

4. The type of mutation that occur is INSERTION. The correct option is B. Insertion is a type of mutation in which one or more nucleotide base pairs are added to a DNA sequence. The inserted base pairs can be small or large. Examples of disease conditions that resulted from insertion mutation are Huntington's disease and fragile X syndrome.

Which of the following is NOT a source of dissolved oxygen in the water?
lesantik [10]

Answer:

A. humans going underwater and exhaling

Explanation:

The dissolved oxygen in water refers to the amount of oxygen that is found in water. However, there are various ways that oxygen dissolves in a body of water, these includes;

- Photosynthesis of aquatic plants: Oxygen is the waste product of the photosynthetic process carried out by green plants. Hence, when aquatic plants undergo photosynthesis, oxygen from them tend to dissolve into water.

- Diffusion from the atmosphere: Oxygen from air or atmosphere also dissolves in water

- aeration as water moves over rocks and debris, and from wind and waves

However, humans do not exhale oxygen but carbon dioxide, hence, it is not a source of dissolved oxygen

Fish are not able to regulate their body temperature by producing heat. How could a fish adjust its body temperature if it were
Anit [1.1K]
The answer is A because D would be contradictory to your question, B only works if it's out of the water, and C makes no sense. So yeah, A they swim into cooler water. Hope this helps!
