<u>Answer-</u>

<em>The interquartile range for the data set is </em><em>65</em>

<u>Solution-</u>

We have to calculate IQR or interquartile range for the given data set,

27, 4, 54, 78, 27, 48, 79, 64, 5, 6, 41, 71

Placing the data set from least to greatest,

4, 5, 6, 27, 27, 41, 48, 54, 64, 71, 78, 79

Now, the median or the middle of the data set, as there are even number of data points, is

=\dfrac{41+48}{2}=44.5

Q₁ = median of the first half of the data = \dfrac{6+27}{2} =16.5

Q₃ = median of the second half of the data = \dfrac{64+71}{2} =67.5

Then, IQR = Q₃-Q₁ = 67.5-16.5 = 51

Therefore, the interquartile range for the data set is 65

Y is directly proportional to x when y=30, x=6
rosijanka [135]

Answer:

a) y = 5x

b) y = 60

Step-by-step explanation:

Since, y is directly proportional to x when y=30, x=6

\therefore \:  y \:  \alpha \:  \: x \\ \therefore \:  y =  kx ...(1) \\ plug \: y = 30 \: and \: x = 6  \: in \: eq \: (1)\\ 30 = k \times 6 \\ k =  \frac{30}{6}  \\ k = 5 \\ plug \: k = 5 \: in \: (1) \\ y = 5x....(2) \: (required \: equation) \\ plug \: x = 12 \: in \: eq \: (2) \\ y = 5 \times 12 \\  \huge \red{ \boxed{y = 60}}

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

300mm:9m

We need to change the meters to mm

1 meter is 1000 mm

so 9 m is 9000 mm

300mm:9000mm

Divide both sides by 300

300mm/300 : 9000/300

1 : 30
