Lateral surface area of the prism = 920 in²

Total surface area of the prism = 1180 in²

Solution:

Length of the prism = 13 in

Width of the prism = 10 in

Height of the prism = 20 in

Lateral surface area of the prism = 2(l + w)h

                                                       = 2(13 + 10) × 20

                                                       = 2(23) × 20

                                                       = 920 in²

Lateral surface area of the prism = 920 in²

Total surface area of the prism = Lateral area + 2lw

                                                     = 920 + 2 × 13 × 10

                                                     = 920 + 260

Total surface area of the prism = 1180 in²

Hence Lateral surface area of the prism = 920 in²

Total surface area of the prism = 1180 in²

Evaluate using suitable identity:
c). 98²
Vesnalui [34]

Step-by-step explanation:

★ Solution :-

\sf \longmapsto 98^2

\sf \longmapsto (a - b)^2 = a^2 - 2ab + b^2

Here,

  • a = 100
  • b = 2

\sf \longmapsto (100 - 2)^2 = 100^2 - 2(100)(2) + 2^2

\sf \longmapsto 100^2 - 2(100)(2) + 2^2

\sf \longmapsto 10000 - 400 + 4

\sf \longmapsto 9606

In the diagram below segment DEF is shown(since all three letters are shown, they are collinear). If DE=3x+2, EF= x+5, and DF= 2
amm1812

The value of x is 4.

By Geometry, we know that line segment DF = DE + EF, which is equivalent to:

DF = 3\cdot x + 2 + x + 5

DF = 4\cdot x + 7 (1)

Now we solve algebraically the resulting expression.

If we know that DF = 23, then we solve the equation for x:

4\cdot x + 7 = 23

4\cdot x = 16

x = 4

The value of x is 4.
