Answer:

Let the cost of each popcorn bag be x and cost of each  drink be y

Cost of 9 bags of Popcorn= 9 x

Cost of 8 drinks be = 8 y

Total money spent by Makayla = $ 49

According to Question

9 x + 8 y= 49..................... equation (1)

Similarly , cost of 3 popcorn = 3 x

Cost of 3 drinks= 3 y

Total money spent by Caroline= $ 17.25

According to Question

3 x+ 3 y= $ 17.25...................equation(2)

We can solve above equation by using elimination method

Multiply equation (2) by 3

9 x + 9 y =  51.75..................equation(3)

9 x + 8 y= 49..................... equation (1)

Subtraction equation (1 ) from equation(3)

y = 2.75

put value of y  in any equation (2)

we get

3 x + 3 × 2.75 = 17.25

3 x +   8.25 = 17.25

3 x = 17.25 - 8.25

3 x = 9

x = 3

Hence, cost of each popcorn bag $ 3 cost of each popcorn bag is also $ 3 (approx)

Victoria is shopping for thank-you notes at Sweet Greetings. She is trying to decide between the three different packages of not
sleet_krkn [62]
For this question, you need to find the price per unit. The unit in this case is a note, so we are looking for the price of each individual note in the package. The way we find this is by taking the price divided by the number of notes So package one would come out to be (9/18) or .50 dollars per note. Package two would come out to be (12/16) or .75 dollars per not. Package three would be (4/10) or .40 dollars per note. Your answer would simply the one with the lowest price per note, and in this case would be package three

A used automobile dealership recently reduced the price of a used compact car by 6%. If the price of the car before discount was
Alchen [17]

Answer:

The discount = $1,128

New price = $17,672

Step-by-step explanation:

Price of car before discount = $18,800

Discount given = 6% of price of car

Discount value in dollars = 6% of $18,800 = 6/100*$18,800 = $1,128

Thus, the discount is $1,128

New price = Price of car before discount - discount = $18,800- $1,128

New price = $17,672
