The majority of the European uprisings failed as a result of military force and a lack of popular support. (Option b).

Revolutions of 1848, constituted a series of republican revolts against European monarchies, beginning in Sicily, and spreading to France, Germany, Italy, and the Austrian Empire. All those riots resulted in failure and repression, following by widespread disillusionment among liberals.

<u>In the year 1830-31, The polish Rebellion was unsuccessful to overthrow the Russian Rule in the Congress Kingdom of Poland along with other Polish ruled provinces in Western Russia. At the beginning of this revolution, Russian emperor Nicholas 1 made his intentions clear that he will use the Polish army to Suppress it</u>. Cadets and Supporters of Nicholas 1 failed to assassinate the brother of Emperor Grand Duke Constantine as he was also the commanding chief of armed forces in Poland. They were also not able to capture the barracks of the Russian cavalry. Whatever partial success they got was aided by reluctance of Grand Duke’s action against them as he was very eager to retreat towards safety.  

<u>But they were lacking in the plans and did not had Unity among themselves and also they were not having any decisive leadership so with assimilation of all these issues, they lost control over the situation. The Polish had an army of 40,000 but it was still not able to stop the Russian advance towards Warsaw.  </u>
