f(x)=2x^2+32x+126

Graph the parabola by first plotting its vertex and then plotting a second point on the parabola.

To find x coordinate of vertex we use formula x =\frac{-b}{2a}

From the given equation , a= 2 , b= 32, c= 126

Plug in all the values

x =\frac{-32}{2*2} = -8

Now plug in 8 for x in f(x)

f(x)=2x^2+32x+126

f(-8)=2(-8)^2+32(-8)+126 = -2

So vertex is (-8,-2)

Now we make a table to get some other points for graphing. We assume x value before and after vertex. Plug in -9 and -7 for x in f(x) and find out y .

f(x)=2x^2+32x+126

f(-9)=2(-9)^2+32(-9)+126 = 0

f(-7)=2(-7)^2+32(-7)+126 = 0

x ------> y

-9 ------> 0

-8 -------> -2

-7 --------> 0

Now we graph all the points.

Graph is attached below.

Here are a bunch of CORRECT answers, your answer is somewhere in there. For the first CORRECT answer the second point is -5,-9. Don't make the same mistake I did on question 3.

F (x) = - eˣ Baseline (x - 4)<br> What is(are) the critical point(s) of f?
Ber [7]

Answer

given,

   f(x) = \dfrac{-e^x}{x - 4}

to find the critical point of the given expression

fist differentiating the function

f'(x) = -\dfrac{(x-4)e^x+ e^x}{(x - 4)^2}

f'(x) = \dfrac{-(x-4)e^x- e^x}{(x - 4)^2}

f'(x) = \dfrac{-e^x(x-3)}{(x - 4)^2}

now equating differential equation to zero

\dfrac{e^x(-x+3)}{(x - 4)^2}=0

e^x(-x+3)=0

now,

-x + 3 = 0            and eˣ ≠ 0

x = 3

the critical number will be equal to x = 3

y = \dfrac{-e^3}{3 - 4}

y =e^3

Julie's first three test scores in biology<br> were 65, 90 and 73. What was her<br> average score?
dedylja [7]

Answer:Julie's average score was 76

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula for Average or mean is expressed as

Average = sum of terms / total number of terms.

Julie's first three test scores in biology were 65, 90 and 73.

The sum of the scores would be

65 + 90 + 73 = 228

The number of terms is the number of subjects. Therefore, the number of terms is 3. Therefore,

Average = 228/3 = 76
