Two of the state with the highest amount of gun voilence are California and New York, which have some of the strictest gun policies in the United States. States like Arizona and Texas however, two of the least strict gun control states have some of the lowest numbers in the US. The reason for this being, making something illegal for citizens to own serves almost no purpose because criminals will end up getting their guns illegally. All it does is take away a citizen's defense against criminals who ignore the gun control laws. Another example of this is Mexico. Mexico is almost tied with New York and California in gun related deaths per 100,000 people and they too, have outlawed guns. This is why we must respect the second amendment and allow citizens the ability to protect themselves against non-law obeying criminals.
