During the 19th century, a Federal Trade Commission was created in order to prevent the “unlawful suppression of competition” in America. This commission, created during the presidency of Woodrow Wilson, promoted several regulations and policies which, although intended to deal with the suppression of competition in general, was focused on different issues such as the regulations known as the Sherman Anti-Trust Ac, and the Robinson Patman Act.

while the Sherman Anti-Trust Ac was the first federal law directed against industrial combination and monopoly, the Robinson Patman Act gave the Federal Trade Commission the power to control the interstate commerce’s prices.

The U.S. made an effort to prevent this from happening.
