July Company currently outsources a relay switch that is a component in one of its products. The switches cost $20 each. The com

pany is considering making the switches internally at the following projected annual production costs: Unit-level material cost $ 3 Unit-level labor cost $ 2 Unit-level overhead $ 1 Batch-level set-up cost (5,000 units per batch) $ 25,000 Product-level supervisory salaries $ 37,500 Allocated facility-level costs $ 20,000 The company expects an annual need for 5,000 switches. Answer:

$10,500

Explanation:

The computation of Total cost is shown below:-

Unit cost =  (Total income tax expense +  Unit-level overhead + Batch-level set-up cost) × Units per batch

= ($3 + $2 + $1) × 5,000

= $6 × 5,000

= $30,000

Total incremental cost = Unit cost + Batch level set up cost + Product level Supervisory salaries + Rental income

= $30,000 + $25,000 + $37,500 + $18,000

= $110,500

Now, Present cost = Switches cost × Units per batch

= $20 × 5,000

= $100,000

Net increase in cost = Total incremental cost - Present cost

= $110,500 - $100,000

= $10,500

Therefore for computing the net increase in cost we simply deduct the present cost from total incremental cost.

Tim Company had sales of $30,000, increase in accounts payable of $5,000, decrease in accounts receivable of $1,000, increase in
ipn [44]

Answer:

$31,000

Explanation:

decrease in accounts receivable = $1,000

Sales = $30,000

Cash collected from customers = Sales plus decrease in accounts receivables

                                                    = $30,000 + $1000

                                                    = $31,000

The decrease in account receivables represents the collection of cash from a customer. If sales amount to $30,000, all must have been collected in cash hence no amount was outstanding to increase receivables. Hence the addition of the two items gives the cash collected from customers.

Fatuma invests a total of $22,000 in two accounts. The first account earned a rate of return of 15% (after a year). However, the
Lesechka [4]

Answer:

$7,500 was invested in the account that gained 15%, while $14,500 was invested in the account that lost 7%.

Explanation:

Given that Fatuma invests a total of $ 22,000 in two accounts, and the first account earned a rate of return of 15% after a year while the second account suffered a 7% loss in the same time period, and at the end of one year the total amount of money gained was $ 110.00, to determine how much was invested into each account, the following calculation must be performed:

11,000 x 0.15 - 11,000 x 0.07 = 880

5,000 x 0.15 - 17,000 x 0.07 = -440

8,000 x 0.15 - 14,000 x 0.07 = 220

7,000 x 0.15 - 15,000 x 0.07 = 0

7,500 x 0.15 - 14,500 x 0.07 = 110

Therefore, $ 7,500 was invested in the account that gained 15%, while $ 14,500 was invested in the account that lost 7%.
