What does the welfare of a country depend upon
slamgirl [31]

The welfare of a country depends on various factors, including access to education, health, the right to security, low unemployment rates among others.

There are different indicators created in order to effectively measure welfare in a country. The GDP (Gross Domestic Product) per capita, shows the amount of income after it has been evenly distributed among all of the citizens of a country. This, however, does not assess the issue of determining if, in fact, the income is being distributed equally. For this purpose, there is another indicator called the GINI index, which measures the actual equality in the distribution of income among the citizens of a country.

How did religion play a part in the crusades
harina [27]
Regardless, religion was always the primary trigger for a crusade. Though religion always played a part, the perceived threat to the church evolved. The first Crusade focused solely on ridding the Holy Land of Muslim forces. The popes began to use crusades to combat any perceived threat against the Catholic Church.

Which of the following is a major effect of Indian Ocean trade from 600-1450 C.E.?
ANTONII [103]

One significant result of the Indian Ocean trade in between 600 and 1450 C.E. was the rise in demand for slaves in West Africa.

Around the year 800 A.D., the Indian Ocean Trade started. When trade first started, little trading settlements dominated the landscape. The small-scale commerce activity eventually moved to a larger setting, specifically the Indian Ocean trade, which is one of the world's oceans. The commerce once fell off when Portugal invaded and attempted to take advantage of it for their own financial gain in the year 1500. An important element in the East-West interactions has been the Indian Ocean Trade itself.

Dhows and sailboats were once employed for Indian Ocean trade, and as a result, the region extending from Java in the east to Mombasa and Zanzibar in the far west became a hub for contact between different civilizations and cultures.
