A: Yes
B: Yes
C: No

Explanation:
For a line to be perpendicular, the slope must be a negative reciprocal. The slope in each of these equations is the number with x as it's coefficient. The negative reciprocal of 3x is -1/3x. The y intercept is the other number in the equation, the y intercept can be any number as long as the slope is perpendicular, so all but A are perpendicular. B is also yes because B is perpendicular, with the same slope.

A. Yes, because it is perpendicular
B. Yes, because it is parallel
C. No, because not parallel or perpendicular.
Hope this helps

The first term of a sequence is -12. The recursive formula for the sequence is an = an-1 + 9. What are the next 3 terms in the s
Bess [88]
The next three terms are: -3, 6, and 15

To get each new term, we simply add 9 to the last term. So we add 9 to -12 to get -3. Then we add 9 to -3 to get 6. Finally we add 9 to 6 to get 15

In other words,
first term = -12
second term = first term+9 = -12+9 = -3
third term = second term + 9 = -3+9 = 6
fourth term = third term + 9 = 6+9 = 15

This process repeats forever though we only need three terms in this case.

So that's why the answer is the three values -3, 6 and 15

Which equation does not represent this line?
WARRIOR [948]

when you get this kind of exercise, you just need to check which equations resemble the graph

A. y= 6-4x

y= -4x+6

B. y= -4x+8-2

y= -4x+6

C. y= -4x-8-1

y= -4x-9

D. y= -4x+6

-> A, B and D are the same equations

-> the easiest way to find which graph is correct (A/B/D OR C), is to create the graph yourself using the drawn graph:

y= ax+b

a= negative (the line goes down)

to find the a you go 1 step to the left and look which point of the graph has the same x. in this exercise it's when y=4

a=-4

b= the y-coordinate of the point where the graph cuts the y-axis.

b=6

-> graph shown in picture is y= -4x+b

-> graph A/B/D is correct

-> C is does not represent this line
