What motivates Cyclops to ask Poseidon to interfere with Odysseus’s journey home?
schepotkina [342]
Sample Response: The Cyclops is angry that Odysseus, a weak and tiny man, was able to blind him and trick him. To make matters worse, Odysseus has no regrets, and he does not apologize even though the Cyclops offers to treat him well if he returns. Instead, Odysseus insults Cyclops more than once during his escape. Cyclops knows that the gods have power over men's lives, and this is his only opportunity for revenge. Thus, he is motivated to seek revenge against Odysseus.

“A field trip to Georgia’s Little Grand Canyon”

First of all I would like to mention that Georgia’s Little Grand Canyon is one of the most colorful and wonderful places, a person could ever see in during the whole life. The formal name of this place is Providence Canyon, which is situated in southwest Georgia’s Coastal Plains region near the Alabama border. In 1800s poor farmers started growing plants and cut down the trees, as a result, their activity caused the soil erosion. Because of that and some natural factors such as rain and years of the flow of water and sand , helped to create an amazing, picturesque  place which includes 43 different colors of sand and soil. It is a well-known fact, that in 1971, the state of Georgia decided to officially name it a state park instead. Providence Canyon State Park is considered one of the Seven Wonders of Georgia.

Activities and accommodation:

1. In July and August, the canyon floor is decorated with the world’s largest known colony of the rare plumleaf azalea. This beautiful paprika-red flower is found only in southwestern Georgia and eastern Alabama.

2.  Along the trails, you’ll also likely see woodpeckers, wild turkeys, warblers, white-tailed deer, armadillos, raccoons, red foxes, and gray squirrels. The trails are clearly marked; or if you prefer, a park ranger can take you on a guided tour”( Georgia’s Little Grand Canyon Jayce Blackman)

3. This park has got trails to hike and one of the most popular is called Canyon Loop Trail, it takes about 2 hours to hike. If a visitor wants to explore more, you can get extra time and explore a historic church and cemetery, which was built in 1800s.

4. There are three pioneer or six background campsites.  The Pioneer camps are private ones and it is allowed to make a reservation for groups. It’s an ideal place for students or adult people.  Besides there is water, grills, toilets and everything that you may need. Background sites are undeveloped and the students should take everything they may need, including water. Of course it’s up to you to decide, where you would like to stay, or being a savage or tourist. . In addition, the park also hosts "Geology Days", with a ranger-led tour of the canyons and their geological history. Besides there is no light pollution and you can enjoy an amazing view of the night sky.

The Prices for accommodation and address are listed here:

It costs $5 to park at Providence Canyon State Park, and annual passes are available for $50. If you're 62 or older, you can get the annual Park Pass at a 50 percent discount, and active military and veterans with a valid ID can get 25 percent off.

The park is open from 7 a.m.-6 p.m. from Sept. 15-April 14 and from 7 a.m.-9 p.m. from April 15-Sept. 14. The visitor's center is generally open on Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Picnic shelters cost $35 to rent, pioneer campsites are $40 to $80 and accommodate 50 people per site, and backcountry campsites can be reserved for $10 a person.

The address is 8930 Canyon Road, Lumpkin, GA 31815. It’s in Stewart County. GPS Coordinates for Providence Canyon are N 32.064445 | W -84.921913 (Everything to know about Georgia's "Little Grand Canyon «Eliza Sheffield)

So, do not loose this opportunity! This lovely and amazing place gives you an opportunity of taking pictures, camping, having a picnic, attending one of the site's occasional astronomy nights and going sightseeing. Besides you can go hiking, have a picnic, become closer to nature and see with your own eyes amazing animals that live in the park. You can take pictures and enjoy the view of the rare plumleaf azalea, if you decide to visit this park in July or August. It`s a perfect place for students with different kinds of activities. Each person would like to have a picture with 43 different natural colored background. There is a great variety of camping with cheap price. The Seventh Wonder of Georgia is waiting for you! Touch the legend and imprint in your memory!
