However, as she begins to lose her mind, she becomes increasingly unreliable, making it impossible for the reader to know to what extent she should be trusted. Moreover, the woman is unable to escape from this situation due to the fact that her husband is a doctor, and he does not accept her opinions.
Finally, in terms of the room, we see that the narrator is in a room that has an ugly, yellow wallpaper. Besides this, she receives no mental stimulation, which leads her to become obsessed with the wallpaper as well as with the ideas of freedom and captivity.
