The field of statistics is divided into two major divisions: The inferential and The descriptive. Each of these segments important and give a different technique that accomplished different objectives.  

<u>Descriptive statistics</u>: it defines what's going in the population or data sets.  

<u>Inferential statistics:</u> It allows scientists to take findings from the sample group and generalize it on a large population.

Descriptive statistics help learn things such as spread and center the data. Nothing is there in descriptive that generalized on the population.

Inferential statistics also used the same calculation but the focus is different in inferential statistics.
