The answer is false. The Vikings did not break the Danelaw by looting monasteries.

Danelaw is an historical name given to part of England that was controlled by the Danes. From around the year 800, there were many Danish raids along the coastline of Britain. The Danes that raided were called vikings. In 865, instead of raiding, the Danes created an army.

Choose the correct pronoun to complete the sentence.
Vika [28.1K]

Answer: In this case, both pronouns can be used to complete the sentence as both terms grammatically make sense, however whom is the prefered pronoun.

Explanation:

The difference between “who” and “whom” is the same as the difference between “I” and “me;” “he” and “him;” “she” and “her;” etc. Who, like other pronouns such as I he, and she, is a subject. So, it is the person performing the action of the verb. On the other hand, whom, acts like me, him, and her in a sentence. It is the object. Therefore, it is the person to/about/for whom the action is being done.

But what does that mean? “Who,” the subjective pronoun, is the doer of an action. For example, “That’s the girl who scored the goal.” It is the subject of “scored” because the girl was doing the scoring. Then, “whom,” as the objective pronoun, receives the action. For instance, “Whom do you like best?” It is the object of “like”.

Who should be used to refer to the subject of a sentence.

Whom should be used to refer to the object of a verb or preposition.

Unit Test Part 2 The American Renaissance Answer the question using complete sentences. Total score: ____ of 10 points Refer to
Tems11 [23]

A paradox can be seen when a character named Georgiana claims that danger is not a threat to her life.

We can arrive at this answer as follows:

  • The paradox is a figure of language that presents two opposing ideas simultaneously.
  • In "The Birthmark" we can see an example of this when Georgiana states that she is willing to do anything to get rid of the birthmark, even if it is a dangerous thing.
  • She claims the danger is not a threat to her life.

As we know the danger is a threat to life. Affirming that life is not threatened in the presence of danger is a paradox, as it is an idea that contradicts reality.

"The Birthmark" is a story about how a birthmark can cause instability between people and personal problems.
