How is the constitution in Florida similar to that of the United States?Explain.
Mashutka [201]

Preamble: Both preambles begin with “We the People”, demonstrating that it is from the people that government secures its power.

Articles: There are seven articles in the U.S. Constitution and the Florida Constitution has 12 articles. The Bill of Rights was added to the U.S. Constitution in 1791 while the Florida Declaration of Rights was included in Florida’s last constitution, which was ratified in 1968.

Amendment Process: Both constitutions are “living documents” as each provides for making changes (amendments). The U.S. Constitution is amended by elected federal and state legislators while the Florida Constitution is amended by voters.

Please help me with the following
blagie [28]

Prior to the Civil War, the (dominant) discourse over the United States’ future reach a crisis point in that the divide grew between the North and the South over the status of slaves with the north favoring a more liberal view.

What were the arguments regarding the Constitutionality of slavery and notions of citizenship?

Throughout the mid-1800s, disagreements about the institution of slavery erupted, eventually leading to the Civil War: sociological reasons such as: whites being superior to blacks were presented.

The south contended that slaves were economically useful due to the steady work supply."

Hence the attrition.

How did relative definitions of liberty/freedom/equality become irreconcilable?

The relative definitions of liberty and freedom that became irreconcilable was when the notion of negative liberty was coined.

This notion was suggestive of the fact that:

Negative liberty is the freedom from outside intervention and that it is concerned largely with freedom from external restriction, as opposed to positive liberty (ownership of the capacity and resources to realize one's own potential).

Analyze the extent to which European exploration of the new world was driven by economic factors.
Iteru [2.4K]

The characterization of mercantilism as a "set of practices" demonstrates the absence of a preconceived plan for the economic policy of European countries that, between the 16th and 18th centuries, disputed slices of American territory to keep them in the condition of colonies. During this period, in Europe, the wealth available in the world was thought of as something that could not be expanded, and therefore the absolutist states strove to secure for themselves as much of this supposedly limited wealth as possible. Gold and silver, circulating in the form of coins or locked in the coffers of kings were understood as their translation, hence the true search fever of the so-called metals
