The answer is B

Basically, Europe (Britain, Germany, Russia, France, etc.) was trying to divide up China among itself. America (since they now had the Philippines and could trade more in Asia) wanted to make sure they weren't locked out of trading with China. So the US kinda stepped into the discussion and said "I think that no matter what happens, let's not stop anyone from trading here. So even if Russia or Britain hates us at some point, that doesn't stop us from doing what we need to do."

What's funny is most of Europe went along with it. (except Russia because Russia don't care).

They all ended in failure and repression, and were followed by widespread disillusionment among liberals.

Explanation:

The 1848 revolutions failed throughout Italy due to a combination of several contributing factors, most importantly these included; foreign intervention, the refusal of the Pope to support the revolutions, lack of involvement from the masses and also lack of national leadership and aims.

Explain one negative effect of contact between Native Americans and Europeans
motikmotik

Answer: Europeans carried deadly (to the Native Americans) diseases

Explanation: When getting cured of a disease your body will have some type of immunity to the disease. If it is common from where you are then it wouldn't be too harmful. However, Native Americans getting new European diseases harmed them because this was new and they had no immunity. This made these diseases deadly to them.
