olga nikolaevna [1]

Answer:  40 miles

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x represent the number of miles and y represent the total cost

U-Haul: y = 0.75x + 49.95

ABC:     y = 0.50x + 59.95

Use substitution method to solve for x:

0.75x + 49.95 = 0.50x + 59.95

0.25x + 49.95 =              59.95         subtracted 0.50x from both sides

0.25x               =              10.00          subtracted 49.95 from both sides

                   x   =    40                        divided 0.25 from both sides

Each cake tin is 25cm in diameter . How many cake tins fit on a 600mm X 500mm tray
Elina [12.6K]

From the information given, the tins are circular /cylindrical because they have a diameter.

So we need to find out the base area of each tin .

Base Area = π r²

radius here will be 25/2 = 12.5

Area = 3.14 × 12.5 ×12.5

Area = 490.6cm²

For the tray the dimensions are 600mm and 500mm which seem to allude the trays are of a regular shape such as a rectangle. Let us assume it is so.

600mm = 60cm,  and 500mm = 50cm

Area = L × w

Area = 50 × 60 = 3000cm²

Each tray will fit 3000 ÷ 490.6 = 6.1

6 cake tins will fit into one tray

Mrs. Kato has 6 bags of dried beans and a 2-pound bag of rice in one shopping bag. In another shopping bag she has a 5-pound bag
Serjik [45]

Given:

Mrs. Kato has 6 bags of dried beans and a 2-pound bag of rice in one shopping bag.

In another shopping bag she has a 5-pound bag of flour.

The two shopping bags weigh the same amount.

To find:

The weight of each bag of dried beans.

Solution:

Let x be the weight of each bag of dried beans.

So, weight of 6 bags of dried beans = 6x.

According to the question,

Weight of first bag = (6x + 2) pounds

Weight of second bag = 5 pounds

The two shopping bags weigh the same amount. So,

6x+2=5

6x=5-2

6x=3

Divide both sides by 6.

x=\dfrac{3}{6}

x=0.5

Therefore, the weight of each bag of dried beans is 0.5 pounds.
