Answer:

It should be a compound sentence, with the following being your independent and dependent clause.

INDEPENDENT: We browsed the gift shop for souvenirs.

DEPENDENT: After we ate lunch at the Japanese tearoom.

Explanation as to why:

Very simple, compound sentences have two parts in the sentence, commonly separated by a comma and two separate thoughts.

To help you decide whether something is a dependent or independent clause, read the sentence in your head and see it if sounds like it makes sense, if it doesn't, that means its your dependent. It's because it DEPENDS on another thought to complete it. To identify your independent, it usually sounds like a complete thought with a start and an end.

Hopefully this helps you understand it better!

3. How does Collins, in his poem “The Names,” contrast the childlike innocence and the horrific in this poem?
givi [52]

Explanation:

His first statement in the poem does the contrasting, which says;

"Yesterday, I lay awake in the palm of the night".

In effect he was saying just as an innocent child goes to bed, so the victims were alive just the day before horrific event of September 11.

Further into the night the innocent child experiences a change, which was expressed with the words;

"A soft rain stole in, unhelped by any breeze". This saying indicates how the innocent people experienced a change that made them victims of a horrific event that claimed their lives.

not sure if this counts as a question but can i get some motivation to continue working on my assignments ive been having a ton
ddd [48]

Answer:

Music. Find lofi or instrumentals or beats of your favorite songs. Some say music makes your focus bad, but it provides an incentive and helps me slip into the zone. As long as it isn't heavy rock or energetic pop, just some calming music without lyrics, it helps you relax and focus.

If you could give me your insta I might be able to help more by basing it off your interests. Feel free not to though.
