Answer:

The number of neurons needed to transmit signals

Explanation:

 • Somatic Nervous System: it regulates the voluntary movement of skeletal muscles, its major components are cranial and spinal nerves
 • Autonomic Nervous System: its involuntarily managed, its major components are the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems and it acts on glans and smooth and cardiac muscles.

Their main structural difference between both systems is that the somatic nervous system needs only one efferent neuron to transmit a signal while on the other hand, the autonomic nervous system needs two efferent neurons and ganglia to transmit a signal.

I hope you find this information useful and interesting! Good luck!

Calculate the surface-to-volume ratio of a spherical cell 15mum in diameter and of a cell 2mum in diameter. What are the consequ
Marina CMI [18]

Answer:

For calculating the surface to volume ratio for a spherical cell,

Surface area (S) = 4πr²

Volume (V) = 4πr³ / 3

Ratio = S / V = 4πr² / 4πr³ / 3 = 3 × 4πr² / 4πr³

= 3/r

1. 15 micrometer diameter = Ratio = 3/7.5 = 0.4

2. 2 micrometer diameter = Ratio = 3/1 = 3

The cells exhibiting high surface to volume ratio shows enhanced metabolic activity. Shows easy uptake of oxygen, nutrients, water, and also the excretion of waste as they possess large surface.

What are the skeletal difference between a biped and a quadruped?
Allushta [10]
To see the difference between biped and a quadruped, let's compare the skeletons of the man (biped) and the horse (quadruped):

*The man has the bigger pelvis: he has to bear the weight of the body.*The scapula is smaller.*The bones of the hind leg bigger.*The forearms more mobile.*The man has the spine that attaches under the skull.*And the tail that has completely regressed.
the man has adapted to standing and biped (he walks on 2 feet): his hind legs are reinforced.

When both participants in a species' interaction develop adaptations in direct response to one another, this could progress into
fomenos

Answer:

coevolution

Explanation:

Coevolution refers to the process where two or more species modify each other's evolution via natural selection. Darwin mentioned how insects and flowering plants could coevolve by reciprocal evolutionary modifications. Coevolution has firstly been associated with mutualism between species including, for example, birds and flowering plants. However, coevolution may also involve host-parasite relationships, such as associations involving parasitic organisms and their sexually reproducing hosts. Finally, there are situations where coevolution involves both parasitism and mutualism (i.e., antagonistic coevolution).
