The correct answer is - a. hibernation.

Big portion of the animals living in the alpine biome tend to hibernate during the winter period, and the reasons for that are multiple, like food shortage, very cold weather, and very importantly, there's places where to take shelter and hibernate.

The taiga, on the other hand, comes to be more cruel in this aspect. It is a biome that in general has a food shortage, the winter lasts for most of the year, but the animals do not have any suitable places as to where they can hibernate, so they have to be active all the time.

Deforestation is a worldwide phenomenon. However, there are some areas that experience more deforestation than others.
nevsk [136]

Answer:

Brazilian Highlands

Explanation:

The Brazilian Highlands are a vast area of Brazil that include not only jungles to the west but also the Atlantic forests to the east. These latter forests have been drastically reduced in the past decades and now less than ten percent of their original extension remains.

The western reaches of the Highlands border the Amazon and also experienced deforestation to the expansion of farms and also of land used for cattle ranching. Another factor that rapidly accelerates deforestation in the region is the expansion of urban areas.
