Because alliteration is when the same sound (not necessarily the same letter) occurs at the beginning of a word or words that closely follow each other in the same sentence or poem line, we can see that with a "W" sound, the second line contains alliteration with the words "wanders," "watches," and "with." And, the fourth line contains alliteration with the "M" sound with the words "muster" and "men."
I would most likely calmly tell them that I am a citizen of the United States too, and I demand a table. If they still will not seat me, I would probably calmly exit the restaurant and find somewhere that will. That's on them for not seating someone because of their race or culture.

Answer: The adverb slowly describes the verb walked. It basically says HOW the person walks (like did they walk fast, slow, at an average pace, etc., and in this case, it says that they walked in a slow manner).
Edit: so I’m assuming effect is like the mood of the story created, and I’d say that it creates a somber, suspenseful feeling, opposed to if she was walking quickly, which would create a rushed mood.
