Some chickens lay an egg every day. Other chickens produce few eggs. A study is planned to examine some factors that might affec

t the number of eggs produced by chickens. Which of the following is NOT a suitable hypothesis for the study?
If there is more protein in the feed, then more eggs are produced.

If the cage for the chickens is larger, they will produce more eggs.

If chickens receive more hours of light, then they will produce more eggs.

Answer: If more eggs are produced by the chickens, they will lose more weight.

Explanation:

A hypothesis is a statement which is written as a kind of prediction or assumption. It is based upon few evidences that are obtained by the observations. A hypothesis can be tested using suitable methodologies. The hypothesis can be true or false it depends upon the results of experimental trials.

Here, the hypothesis can be based upon the factors which helps in laying eggs by the chickens such as protein intake, cage size, and light condition. Hence, D is not a suitable hypothesis for study as it is not supporting what factors support the egg laying by the chickens instead it suggests the loss of weight by the chicken due to egg laying.

Most of the oxygen in the atmosphere is made by algae. Where do most of the algae live?
sveticcg [70]
Coastal Ocean!

Explanation: It’s important to remember that although the ocean produces at least 50 percent of the oxygen on Earth, roughly the same amount is consumed by marine life. Like animals on land, marine animals use oxygen to breathe, and both plants and animals use oxygen for cellular respiration. Oxygen is also consumed when dead plants and animals decay in the ocean.

This is particularly problematic when algal blooms die and the decomposition process uses oxygen faster than it can be replenished. This can create areas of extremely low oxygen concentrations, or hypoxia. These areas are often called dead zones, because the oxygen levels are too low to support most marine life.

NOAA’s National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science conducts extensive research and forecasting on algal blooms and hypoxia to lessen the harm done to the ocean ecosystem and human environment.

Mutualism is a biological relationship between TWO or more organisms of different species (inter-specie) in which one or more benefits.

A good example is bacteria in the human intestine that helps to break down cellulose contained in food, thus benefitting humans.

Why is radioactive dating important when approximating the age of Earth? Scientists can identify different life forms using inde
Wittaler [7]

Answer:

Scientists can determine the order of when rocks formed on Earth.

Explanation:

Radioactive dating is the technique in which scientists used radioactive material like carbon or uranium to date the materials. This method of dating is based on the known decay rate of the isotopes of an element. Uranium, Carbon, and potassium are few examples of elements commonly used in radioactive dating.
