Some chickens lay an egg every day. Other chickens produce few eggs. A study is planned to examine some factors that might affec

t the number of eggs produced by chickens. Which of the following is NOT a suitable hypothesis for the study?
If there is more protein in the feed, then more eggs are produced.

If the cage for the chickens is larger, they will produce more eggs.

If chickens receive more hours of light, then they will produce more eggs.

If more eggs are produced by the chickens, they will lose more weight.

Answer: If more eggs are produced by the chickens, they will lose more weight.

Explanation:

A hypothesis is a statement which is written as a kind of prediction or assumption. It is based upon few evidences that are obtained by the observations. A hypothesis can be tested using suitable methodologies. The hypothesis can be true or false it depends upon the results of experimental trials.

Here, the hypothesis can be based upon the factors which helps in laying eggs by the chickens such as protein intake, cage size, and light condition. Hence, D is not a suitable hypothesis for study as it is not supporting what factors support the egg laying by the chickens instead it suggests the loss of weight by the chicken due to egg laying.

An example of chemical digestion is the breakdown of __________ into __________.
vodomira [7]
starch into glucose
proteins
into amino acids
lipids
into fatty acids

There are many more examples of chemical digestion which takes place in the body. Chemical digestion is the breaking of larger more complex molecules into smaller, simpler ones that can be taken up by the cells more easily and readily by the use of chemical agents.. Chemical digestion is carried out primarily using biological molecules called enzymes. For example, the breakdown of starch is done by an enzyme known as amylase, which is present in the saliva.

What problems are experienced by fresh water and marine fish in there habitats and how they overcome it
stich3 [128]

ANSWER:

Problem faced include; habitat loss and degradation, disease outbreak, invasive species, pollution, over‐exploitation/overfishing, climate change etc.

EXPLANATION:

Problem:

Habitat loss and degradation, disease outbreak, invasive species, pollution, over‐exploitation/overfishing, and climate change are notable problems experienced by freshwater and marine fishes.

Solution:

Anthropogenic activities and stressors that rapidly threaten freshwater and marine fishes are curbed through legislation and other means to prevent extinction of fishes.

Through conservation programs that plans for individual species to more species of entire faunas of a particular location also boost population size and prevent hunting of threatened or endangered species in both realms.

Overtime, genetically modified fishes which can develop resistance to diseases are introduced to the realm.

Moreso, waste channels through which pollutants gets into the water bodies are well-treated for safety of fishes.

Which characteristic of viruses prevents them from being used as evidence to support cell theory?
Ne4ueva [31]

Answer:

Viruses replicate only inside host cells.

Explanation:

Viruses are not used as evidence to support the cell theory because they are not considered a cell and cannot carry out vital life processes without getting into host cells.

According to the cell theory, the cell is the basic unit of life, all living organisms are made up of cells and cells arose from preexisting cells. A virus that is not in a host cell is just a piece of DNA/RNA surrounded by a protein coat and is not capable of carrying out any life process for it to be considered living.

Viruses are only able to reproduce and multiply when they get access to a living host. They use the genetic mechanisms of the host to replicate their DNA/RNA using the lytic or lysogenic cycle. Hence, they are not used to support the cell theory.
