Heterotrophs are the organisms which are not able to synthesize their food from inorganic substances.
They depend on other organic sources for their energy which they do so by eating or consuming either autotroph (which produce their food) or organisms which eat autotrophs. For example, Humans can eat autotrophs (plants, vegetables) and goat (eat autotrophs).
