People are worried about too much carbon dioxide in the atmosphere because too much if it causes global warming.  Carbon dioxide is an important greenhouse gas that helps to trap heat in our atmosphere. Without it, our planet would be inhospitably cold.  Too much carbon in the air results in global warming and many other situations. Over the years humans have increased carbon in the air by 40%. Carbon Dioxide is polluted into the air by factories, cars, deforestation, and many other things. Global Warming causes sea-levels to rise, extreme weather patterns, heat waves, and more.
