Well if the fish is directly below the bird then there distance forms a straight vertical line. so to find the vertical distance you can add the 75 meters below sea level and the 887 meters above and get 962

So, first you square both 75 and 887
75 x 75 = 5625
887 x 887 = 786769
After, add them
5625 + 786769 = 792394
Now find the square root of the sum.
Just write the square root sign over 792394.
